In this class you will learn to honor and work with your individuality. May you experience the union of your mind and body by connecting breath with movement. Build a stronger body while releasing tension and flow your way into a more blissful state! Slowing down our mind allows our nervous systems relax, our muscles become supple, and our breath deepens. Yin is a slower paced class that consists of a series of long held passive postures. It does wonders for joint health, flexibility, circulation, and mental focus. This practice stretches and targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body while regulating the body's flow of energy. The time spent in these postures is much like time spent in meditation. We invite you to get intimate with the self, with feelings, sensations, and emotions, something of which can be easy to avoid in a fast paced practice. You will gain greater mental stability and become comfortable with sitting still. Restorative yoga (Blankets, Blocks, & Bolsters OH my) it is a gentle class with the aid of props- blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps. The temperature in the room is cooler, so dress warm and comfortable. This practice is great for anyone looking to slow down, to relieve stress, to calm the excessive mind chatter, or even those recovering from injuries. Restorative is beneficial for insomnia and promoting deep sleep. Fully supported by props, we allow our mind to let go of tension, which releases negative thought patterns and stiffness in the body. Come nourish yourself with this deep restorative practice. Suitable for everyone (no yoga experience needed)
